Assemble and install and maintain sheave beams, motors, sheaves, cable and wire rope, guides, cab, counterweight, door assemblies, hydraulic systems, automatic and manual control systems, signal systems, and all other devices, apparatus, and equipment for the safe and efficient installation and operation of electrical, hydraulic, and manually operated elevators, dumb waiters, moving walks or ramps, conveyor systems, stage lifts, escalators, and man lifts excluding any lift or conveyor used in constructing a building or structure. To make or oversee alterations within the cab of the elevator which require a permit from the department of labor and industrial relations.
The state of Hawaii requires that you take and pass a written Business and Law Exam exam for this trade.
