This study guide is organized to match the way topics appear on the Arkansas Master Electrician exam. Here is what is included in your download:
Use these questions alongside your National Electrical Code (NEC) book. Read a section of the book, then work through the related practice questions to check your understanding.
Each sample question includes a reference to the NEC article number where the subject is discussed. This helps you quickly review why the correct answer is right and reinforces the process of looking up information efficiently — a key skill for an open-book exam.
Bookmarks have been added throughout the study guide to help you:
Use the additional questions drawn from Ugly’s Electrical References to strengthen your coverage of general theory, Ohm’s Law and topics that commonly appear on the electrical exam.
Sample exam questions are sourced from the National Electrical Code (NEC), Ugly’s Electrical References.

All study materials are delivered electronically for instant access after purchase and are provided as ZIP archives containing standard US letter-size PDF files.

The official bulletin containing content (subjects covered in the exam), allowed time and test date scheduling are documented in the downloadable PDF files maintained by ProV. The bulletin is specific to your jurisdiction and trade. PDF files are accessed from the landing page button shown above. After going to that page, scroll to your state name and expand by using the “+” on the right side. Candidates should always review the current exam information on the ProV website before applying or testing.
We recommend that you purchase one of the reference books above to study for your exam. Each book is a comprehensive subject index to the NEC. They provide an even faster way to look up answers in the code and are far more detailed than the index at the end of the code book.
Reference #2 above contains practical applications of the NEC such as Ohm‘s Law, series/parallel circuits, voltage drop, load calculations, motor phases, impedance, inductance and math formulas you are expected to know. “Basic Knowledge” is covered in the exam but detailed subjects are assumed and not specifically called out in the bulletin.
A "calculations" book where you can drill yourself repeatedly is always a good way to remember the most basic math procedures. Generally, you won't have time during an exam to search for these procedures in a book.
